A library before and after renovation (IELTS Writing Task 1 map)Two floor plans of the ground floor of a public library, now and after renovation. Now: the entrance is in the middle of the south wall, with a reception desk just inside. Along the north side are a fiction section, a non-fiction section and a reading room. In the south-west there are a newspaper area and a computer area with six computers. In the south-east there are a children’s books section, toilets and a staff room. After renovation: the entrance, toilets and staff room will stay the same. Fiction and non-fiction will be combined into one smaller section, making space for a café. The reading room will become a larger children’s area. The newspaper area and the old computer area will be replaced by three study rooms, and the children’s books section by a digital zone with fifteen computers.
